A miscarriage is a pregnancy that ends unexpectedly. A miscarriage in 6th month can be avoided or not. Read the entire article to find out the exact answer, and there are two types of miscarriage: early miscarriage and late miscarriage. 

Early miscarriage happens in the first trimester, before week 13. Early miscarriages are common. It is a period when many women do not know whether they are pregnant or not. In many cases, women do not have the symptoms of miscarriage. More than 80% of miscarriages happen in the first trimester. 

A late miscarriage happens during the second trimester (Miscarriage in 6th month). It is after week 13 but before week 20. 

Signs of a late miscarriage

Some common signs of miscarriage are vaginal bleeding, labor-like cramp pains, and a water break. 

Some women may face vaginal spotting. Vaginal spotting is a small amount of blood you experience outside of your regular period. But all vaginal spotting doesn’t lead to a miscarriage. Some vaginal spotting may happen during the first trimester. Consult your doctor if you face this issue. 

In some cases, women do not even know that their baby has died. They come to see when the doctor does an ultrasound scan during regular checkups.

While in some cases, women come to know that their baby’s movements have slowed down or stopped. They have to consult a doctor immediately if there is any such issue.

Causes of late miscarriage

Most miscarriages can happen due to abnormal fetus development. But there can be many other reasons to cause miscarriage.

Some commonly include genetic disorders, abnormal chromosomal binding, or a heart defect. These changes in the baby have no particular reason.

Causes of late miscarriage

Miscarriage may also happen due to the physical condition of a mother. Some of the chronic conditions may include:

  • Diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Thyroid conditions
  • Some infections or other immune disorders
  • Having two prior miscarriages in a row
  • Pregnancy over the age of 35
  • Severe overweight or underweight
  • Having uterus shape abnormal
  • Weak cervix (entrance to the womb)
  • A habit of taking alcohol, tobacco, or high caffeine.

How to avoid miscarriage in 6th month?

If you have any of the signs of miscarriage stated above, immediately consult your doctor and then Doctors try to do the delivery at that time. For instance, there is a chance that your baby will live if it is born alive at six months.

Additionally, your doctor will decide if you are eligible for a free delivery first. They wait for some time for the labor pains to start naturally.  Conception

If it does not happen, your doctor may start induced labor. It means inducing labor artificially. There are two methods to induce labor and you may be given medicines to swallow or pessaries to insert into your vagina. In addition it helps to induce labor.

These medicines soften the cervix and help the baby pass smoothly through the womb. Along with these, you may be given oxytocin – a hormone that enables uterus contractions.

Lastly, consulting a doctor and having your delivery at six months can avoid a miscarriage if you face any of the above symptoms. Contractions
