Most of the second pregnancies are dramatically different from the first. When you are second time pregnant, you are aware of your body, your abilities, and your expectations. Still, you need to know that second pregnancy is very much different from the first one. Becoming aware of the differences between 1st and 2nd pregnancies can help you to prepare yourself to do it all again.

Here are the most common differences between 1st and 2nd pregnancies:

Differences between 1st and 2nd Pregnancies1. You will become bigger faster

In the second pregnancy, you will show so much faster when compared to first pregnancy. Most women can wear normal clothes during their 1st pregnancy, but this is not the case with 2nd one. During 1st pregnancy, your body expands to a certain level, but during the postpartum period, most women may not return to their initial size. This makes you show little sooner when compared to the first one. Also, your abdominal muscle tone is not the same as it was with your first baby. Sometimes, it might be impossible to regain that slim belly even you are very physically fit.

2. You may not feel very excited

Cheering, crying, hugs, and congratulations you had with your first pregnancy may not be the things for the second time. Generally, people are not that much excited to share the good news with their friends and family members.

3. You are not bothered as you were in the first pregnancy

When you were first time pregnant, you had received advice, stories, thoughts, questions, and many more from most people. For the second baby also, you may receive the same things. So, you don’t have to bother about them and do what you did for the first baby.

4. You may not buy unnecessary things

For the second baby, you are clearly aware of the necessary things you need. You can use the crib, bedding set that you have used with your first baby. Most people know that they don’t need much with the second baby that they need with first.

5. You may feel even difficult to sleep

During the second pregnancy, you may feel it much difficult to sleep compared to the first one. Increased belly size makes it hard to sleep. So, you should be prepared for those sleepless nights if you are planning for your second child.

6. You may feel the things easier compared to first pregnancy

You may feel the things much easier as you know what to expect the second time. You will clearly identify what to expect and how to organize to face those hard situations. Much of the pregnancy anxiety will put to rest at this time. You will know the changes that your body is undergoing and what the fetus is doing inside the belly in what times.
