Fetal Development

Fetal development is the process by which a human embryo and later fetus develop during pregnancy, from fertilization until birth.

There are many stages of fetal development. The first stage is the pre-embryonic stage, which lasts about two weeks. During this time, the zygote divides rapidly and becomes a ball of cells called a morula.

The next stage is the embryonic stage, which lasts about six weeks. During this time, cells continue to divide and form two layers of cells called an inner cell mass and an outer layer called the trophoblasts.
